Pond Oil on Linen - 30cm x 60cm

Plein Air at the “Botanique”

In an attempt to make up the lack of posts from last year at least a little bit, I’ll post some work for you to see here.

This one was painted in the botanical garden in Leuven last summer. If I remember it correctly, it was during the month of may, but it could be june too. Anyway, I was there with some friends from the academy. It was a nice effort to start painting en plein air with sort of a group. However, it didn’t last long. Busy schedules are the main reason for our failure if you ask me. However, I want to do this again so if you are painting outside in Vlaams-Brabant, let me know and I’ll try to join you.

This is lovely Johan – I like the way the greens are so soft and varied. The reflections in the water made me think of John Bauer for some reason (expecting trolls and fairies to come out of the woods), and I do mean this as a compliment šŸ™‚ If I lived closer I’d truly enjoy coming on a painting adventure šŸ™‚

      Thanks Annette, you’re too kind.
I know how you feel. You had such lovely work at display I wanted to come and see it but it’s just not feasible. Hooray for internet šŸ˜€
