Polygonia C-Album - Oil on metal - Ø 8.6cm

This is a butterfly that I found on the stairs we have from our terrace to the garden. It was just sitting there with it's beautiful wings spread, resting, on a hot summer day in 2022. Little did I know that the next day it's beautiful body would still be there but it's soul had left us. It was so beautiful I just had to paint it. I had this old metal whiskey tube for which I had no use. The lid
